Thank you for visiting my blog - I’m so glad you’re here! I’m not much of a blogger, but designprettythings is my space to share my inspiration, interests, and work, so I’d like to take this opportunity to give you guys a look into what goes on behind the scenes.
A little about myself & my career …
I’ve been in the design world for over 7 years now and I’ve found a sweet spot in brand identity and helping brands communicate to their audience. In my early years I did a little bit of everything from temp-ing for an investment realty co. (that wasn’t the most exciting for me) to managing a team of designers at a digital marketing company. I’ve worked out of fancy high-rise buildings and home offices / living rooms.
My extreme love for the social impact world began in 2012 when I was hired as the first in-house designer at ONEHOPE. In my time at ONEHOPE I worked to bring consistency to the brand and communicate the extreme passion of this small (at the time) but mighty team to the world. I was responsible for ONEHOPE’s first rebrand in 7+ years - and they still use some of my designs today! It’s safe to say I am extremely proud of my time there - and I’ll dive into a case study of my wine label redesign project in a separate post.
After 3 years of working in-house with a small team I took a huge leap with the role of Art Director for a big digital marketing company in LA. I wasn’t well versed in the world of digital marketing at the time, but a learned a lot in “hyperspeed”. My time at Wpromote allowed me to work with a ton of clients in a variety of industries, rebrand some large companies, and I became a pro at brand strategy.
“it is so worth it for me to trade in the security for freedom”
Now I’m going on year 8 of my professional career and took a huge leap - I quit my full-time job to pursue the freelance life. While these last few months have been scary and uncertain at times, it is so worth it for me to trade in the security for freedom, work/life balance, and more creativity. I’m SO happy you’re here - follow my instagram account for daily inspiration and this blog for case studies, advice, and design tutorials. Questions / thoughts??
